In 2001 it was purchased by Miko<em>\u00a0<\/em>Rwayitare, the South African visionary entrepreneur.<\/p>\n<p><em>Albert Gatare, family member of the late Miko Rwayitare, said: \u201cWe are proud to confirm the imminent sale of Mont Rochelle hotel and Mountain Vineyard. It is with warmth that Sir Richard Branson is welcomed as the new owner of this\u00a0gem\u00a0in the crown of Franschhoek.
